Chiyaan Vikram's Kadaram Kondan, which was directed by Rajesh M Selva, was jointly produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International in association with R Ravindran's Trident Arts. The movie hit the screens on 19th July and got a very good opening and the reception for the movie was as good as expected. This movie, which had Vikram in the lead, also saw Akshara Haasan and Abi Hassan, in vital roles. Abi Hassan, veteran actor Nassar's son, made his acting debut with this movie. Now, this movie has already won its first award, within just a month of its release!
The Rotary Club of Madras T. Nagar has become the first to honour Kadaram Kondan. The Club presented this movie's director Rajesh M Selva with the Passionate Director Award, for Kadaram Kondan. Mr. KV Kathiravan, the Managing Director of Vinisha Vision, presented the award to director Rajesh M Selva. He also mentioned that it was their Rotary Club who were proud to be the first to honour a wonderful movie like Kadaram Kondan and also added that this would only be the first of the many awards that the movie would go on to garner.
At the award ceremony, Rajesh M Selva first addressed the gathering, before talking to the media. He mentioned that working in Kadaram Kondan was a unique experience as a whole due to the multi-cultural people who formed the cast. Rajesh mentioned that there were people from France, Malaysians, Malaysian Tamilians, also people from Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kerala. Rajesh told that getting the 45-member multi-cultural crew was indeed challenging and attributed that to the movie's success.
