Leading Tamil actor-producer Jyotika has wrapped up filming her portions for the Hindi film, Sri, which is a biopic on visually-impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla being portrayed by leading Hindi actor Rajkummar Rao. The upcoming film marks the big comeback for Jyotika in Bollywood after she made her acting debut in Doli Saja Ke Rakhna in 1998 following which she shifted her focus to South Indian cinema and garnered a huge fan following in the Tamil film industry. Sharing the news of completing filming for Sri, Jyotika extended her gratitude to co-star Rajkummar Rao, while also expressing her joy at being a part of the film, which is directed Tushar Hiranandani and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar.

Posting a photo on Instagram while sharing the big update on Sri, Jyotika wrote in the caption: "Wrapped up my portions for “SRI”with a heavy heart . One of the best crews I have ever worked with … Thank u Tushaar n Nidhi for all the respect and making me part of this meaningful cinema. Huge fan of yours Raj. It’s an honour for me to share screen space with one of the most brilliant actors in Bollywood… learnt so much from you. What I’m taking back from this team as an actor is….. GROWTH 🌱". Congratulatory messages and wishes have been pouring in from several big film industry celebrities for Jyotika's post, including her husband-actor Suriya too complimenting her and the team saying, "May this wonderful journey win all hearts ❤️". Considered to be one of the most prolific actors, Jyotika's last big theatrical release was the 2019 Tamil film, Thambi, which saw her playing the role of Karthi's sister. She was later seen in Ponmagal Vandhal (2020) and Udanpirappe (2021), which skipped a theatrical release and premiered directly on OTT on Amazon Prime Video. Jyotika also recently finished shooting for her big Malayalam comeback in Kaathal: The Core starring iconic actor Mammootty in the lead role and is being directed by Jeo Baby of The Great Indian Kitchen fame.
