Set to open in theatres worldwide on June 10, Jurassic World: Dominion is the next film in the $5 billion Jurassic Park franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. Colin Trevorrow, who piloted Jurassic World in 2015 to a record-breaking $1.7 billion global box office collections, has written the screenplay for the film with Emily Carmichael based on characters created by Michael Crichton. Jurassic World: Dominion picks up from the events of 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom after the destruction of the theme park, where genetically-engineered dinosaurs were being sold in an auction by multinational corporations before being released in the human world. The film has Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, DeWanda Wise, Omar Sy and Daniella Pineda reprising their roles from the previous Jurassic World films, while members of the original Jurassic Park trilogy Laura Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler, Sam Neill as Alan Grant and Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm are once again returning for the swansong.
The official synopsis for Jurassic World: Dominion is as follows: "From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures."
