John Amirtharaj passed away
Director-cum-actor John Amirtharaj passed away on May 28, 2008 due to heart attack. He was 67 years old. His funeral took place at Mandaveli yesterday.
He had directed actor Karthik in Game. He started his career as assistant director to K. Bhagyaraj and R.K. Selvamani. He was a prolific script and screenplay writer. He acted in more than 70 films including Pulanvisaaranai and the most recent Sandakozhi. But he is best remembered for his role as Hindi pundit in the Bhagyaraj starrer Indru Poi Nalai Vaa.
He is survived by his wife Girija and daughters Nancy and Anitha. Galatta pays homage to this great artist and offers its condolences to his family and fans.
