Jiiva to rock in a dual role with Singam Puli
Jiiva plays a dual role for the first time in Singam Puli directed by Sairamani. The movie is produced by S. Parthi and S.S. Vasan for Silverline Film Factory. The movie launch was held on June 4th 2009 at AVM. While interacting with the press, Jiiva said that he is excited about playing a dual role and says that there is a negative and positive shade to the characters. He says that it would be a promising movie with good characterisation and is a challenging role for him.
He has tried out something crooky and the moviebeing a commercial venture will also feature some novelty. Sairamani is an associate of S.P. Jananathan and the story of the movie had impressed Jiiva and in fact he had wanted to do it under R.B. Chowdary's Super Good Films banner but to encourage the enthusiastic producers, he agreed to work on the script with Silverline Film Factory.
The postive character is the one who is simple and down to earth, but the educated advocate role is the character with the negative shade. He also added that the make-up for the movie wasn't very difficult since both the characters have many similarities when it comes to appearance but there is a change in the body language and mannerisms. The story demanded a similar appearance for the characters.
The choice of the title is because they wanted to reach all the audience and a few people might find it funny and the others would feel it is a action based subject. They felt it is catchy and suits the story. Livingston plays the father of Jiiva. Divya Spandana returns after the successful Vaaranam Aayiram. Santhanam and Lakshmi Ramakrishnan are part of the cast. Music is by Mani Sharma and lyrics by Na. Muthukumar and Viveka.
