Jayam Ravi celebrated his birthday yesterday (September 10) and he received wishes from various quarters. Addressing the love and affection that were shown on him, Ravi has released an official statement thanking each and every single person who wished him on his birthday. He also expressed his special love for his fans. Talking in an official statement, Ravi said, “I wholeheartedly thank my film industry friends, media, family friends and everyone else who took time to wish me, even during these testing times. Above all, I am so thankful to my dear fans who made the day special with the common DP, video mash up, painting, motion poster, gana song, and more. I am indebted to the fans who were involved in social welfare activities like blood donation, providing face masks to police officials, etc. Obliging my request, you all have stood as a Thani Oruvan and shown your unity. I'm overwhelmed by your love. How am I going to give back to you guys? I earned each one of you by doing good films and I assure that I will work even harder to do more such quality films.”

On the work front, Jayam Ravi is keenly awaiting the release of his next, Bhoomi which is his 25th film. Directed by Lakshman of Romeo Juliet and Bogan fame, this movie has music scored by D Imman. The first single from the film, titled ‘Tamizhan Endru Sollada’ was released yesterday and it has opened to a fairly positive reception from the music lovers and fans. Bhoomi is currently in the final stages of post production and the makers are yet to make an announcement regarding the release plans. Ravi’s last three films, Tik Tik Tik, Adangamaru and Comali have been successful at the box office and he’d be looking forward to continuing the success with Bhoomi as well.

Ravi has two films which are in the middle of production - Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan and Ahmed’s Jana Gana Mana. Ponniyin Selvan is the major attraction in Ravi’s upcoming line up of films and it has got huge expectations among the film buffs. Mounting a film of that scale is going to be a challenging task for Mani Ratnam and team and the fans are excited to witness the visual extravaganza on the big screen. Reportedly, Jayam Ravi will be seen playing the character of ‘Arul Mozhi Varman’ aka Ponniyin Selvan in this historical epic that has music by AR Rahman. Ravi will be seen sharing screen space with Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and others.
