Leading Tamil actor Karthi's landmark 25th film, Japan, is scheduled to open in cinemas this Diwali in November and new visuals are out now from the highly-anticipated heist action entertainer directed by Raju Murugan of Cuckoo, Joker, and Gypsy fame. The upcoming film's teaser starts off by introducing Karthi as a robber who has burgled jewelry worth more than Rs. 200 crores, with the police from four states on the lookout for him as more than 180 cases have been registered against him for his thievery. The Japan teaser gives viewers a glimpse at Karthi's wacky antics as a burglar, who eludes the authorities while living a life of luxury at every step of his life.
The Japan teaser also sees several notable names sharing screen space with Karthi among whom include Namma Veettu Pillai heroine Anu Emmanuel, Sunil, Vijay Milton, K. S. Ravikumar, Chandrasekhar, among others, with National Award-winning composer G. V. Prakash Kumar powering the visuals with his musical score. The visuals in the teaser depict that the much-awaited film will be high on entertainment and action, with Karthi's look and slang set to be major highlights for fans. With the Japan teaser predominantly revolving around Karthi as a thief who is seen giving chase to the cops, fans will be expecting an exciting cat-and-mouse game to be presented on the big screen next month.
Japan will be releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages considering Karthi's popularity shot up after his portrayal of Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan in the Ponniyin Selvan films directed by Mani Ratnam. The film is also the actor's fifth Diwali release after All in All Azhagu Raja (2013), Kaashmora (2016), Kaithi (2019), and Sardar (2022). It is to be noted that Karthi is already on a winning streak with four back-to-back hits from 2022 starting with Viruman, Ponniyin Selvan: 1, Sardar, including Ponniyin Selvan: 2, which was released earlier this year, and he will no doubt be aiming for a massive outing in theatres once again.
