A film that is gearing up to be one of the most exciting ventures in recent times, Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 is the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster, Indian, and will see Kamal Haasan reuniting with director Shankar once again after a gap of 23 years. Filming will kick-off from August 12 at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh for this Lyca Productions project, which also has music by Anirudh Ravichander, editor Sreekar Prasad, art direction by T. Muthuraj and cinematography by R. Rathnavelu. That said, cinematographer R. Rathnavelu, who has worked in Tamil films like Sethu, Nandha, Vaaranam Aayiram, Enthiran and Lingaa, is currently working on the upcoming Mahesh Babu starrer, Sarileru Neekevvaru, in Hyderabad and was visited on the film’s sets by three-time Oscar-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson with pictures of their meeting going on to trend virally on social networking forums.

Film aficionados will know Robert Richardson for his work in several top Hollywood ventures among which include Quentin Tarantino’s hit projects namely the Kill Bill films, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight and the upcoming, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He has also excelled with his skills in films like The Aviator, Shutter Island, Hugo, World War Z, Big Hero 6 among many other reputed ventures over his nearly four decade career. As for Indian 2, apart from Kamal Haasan, the film will include names like Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Vidyut Jamwal, and Aishwarya Rajesh in vital roles with the supporting cast also featuring names like Delhi Ganesh, Yogi Babu among others.
