IFFI 2010 from Monday

Union Railways Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the 41st International Film Festival of India 2010 (IFFI) on Monday (November 22) in Goa in the presence of Ministers of state for Information & Broadcasting Jagath Rakshakan, Chowdhary Mohan Jatua and Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamath. Eminent film producer Yash Chopra will be the chief guest. West is West will be the opening film.

More than 300 films from 61 countries will be screened in the ten day long festival. Eighteen films, including three from India, are to compete for the coveted Golden Peacock award.

The Indian panorama will feature 26 feature films, including Achin Paakhi, Abohomaan, Maner Manush, Ami Aadu (Bengali), Three Idiots, Wake Up Sid, Paa (Hindi), Kaal Chilambu (Malayalam), Ravanan (Tamil), Me Sindhuthai Sapkal (Marathi), Shabari (Kannada) and Swamyamsiddha (Odiya). There will be 21 non-feature films showcased in the Indian Panorama.
