A film that has been delayed for nearly eight years since it finished production, Idam Porul Yaeval, starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Vishnu Vishal in the lead roles, and directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy is finally gearing up for its release. Produced under blockbuster director N. Lingusamy and N. Subash Chandra Bose's Thirupathi Brothers banner, the upcoming film also stars Aishwarya Rajesh and Nandita Swetha as the female leads and features music by chart-buster composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. Stalled due to various financial issues over the years, with the legal problems now completely sorted out after being given the go-ahead by the Madras High Court, the much-awaited Idam Porul Yaeval trailer has been released by the makers on Monday, October 24, as a Diwali treat for fans.
Idam Porul Yaeval had tremendous excitement surrounding it during the time of its production and director Seenu Ramasamy will be looking to hit the right spot with the message in his film, which has also been announced for a big screen release soon. The film was made right after the filmmaker won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil for Thenmerku Paruvakaatru (2010), while also garnering immense praise for his Neerparavai (2012). It will be interesting to see what Seenu Ramasamy has come up with Idam Porul Yaeval after he delivered the blockbuster Dharma Durai (2016) and Maamanithan released earlier this year.
The story of Idam Porul Yaeval, "weaves through the lives of Pandi & Aasathambi as they battle to emerge winners in the games of Money & Life. Set in a misty backdrop, the Yuvan Shankar Raja musical is a story about love, life & money," an official synopsis for the film revealed. Apart from Vijay Sethupathi, Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Nandita Swetha in the lead roles, the film features an ensemble supporting cast that includes the likes of Vadivukkarasi, Bala Saravanan, Azhagam Perumal, Aruldoss, Ilavarasu, among others.
