I.M. Vijayan returns!
Kerala's Arjuna Award winning football player and former Indian captain I.M. Vijayan is back to tinsel town! (Vijayan debuted in cinema by playing the lead role in Jayaraj’s National award winning Shantham (2000) even at the peak of his career as a footballer and was last seen in the Njan, released in 2008. So far, he has appeared in nine films, one of them being the Tamil film Thimiru.)
After a three-year hiatus, he is doing two films—one in Malayalam and the other in Tamil. The Malayalam film is Kalabhavan Mani starrer MLA Mani: Patham Classum Gusthiyum, in which he will shake his leg to a fast number.
"I could not refuse Mani Bhai’s demand that I should dance in his new movie. I will be dancing to a ‘Dappankuthu’ song to be shot on a beach. I am excited to be working for Kalabhavan Mani who has been a good friend of mine,” Vijayan said. Mani himself is setting the score for the songs. The shooting of this film will begin on ‘Chingam 1’ (August 17).
Vijayan's forthcoming Tamil film is Thekkuvasal in which he plays a full-fledged villain's role. "The shooting for Thekkuvasal is going on for the last six months. I worked for 15 days at Madurai for the film. It is restarting next month. The film is directed by Ratheesh,” Vijayan said.
