Easter marks the end of Lent, a 40 day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. The Friday of the Lent is called Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Easter Day or Easter Sunday is celebrated on the third day after Jesus' crucification. On this day, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. Easter eggs and Easter bunnies are a major attraction during Easter, the festival of rejuvenation of life and living.
