Composer turned actor G. V. Prakash Kumar has been basking in the glory of his thunderous contribution on the musical front in last year's blockbuster, Asuran, starring Dhanush under Vetri Maaran's direction. GV Prakash was also announced to be part of two big films next which includes Vetri Maaran's Vaadi Vaasal with Suriya and the tentatively titled D43 to be directed by Karthick Naren featuring Dhanush as the lead with Prasanna revealed to be cast in a vital supporting role. With Dhanush 43 being planned for an October release, GV Prakash in an exclusive interview to Galatta Media went on to speak about how he came on board the upcoming project while also revealing the film will be a new age thriller.

Speaking about D43, GV Prakash states, "I got a call from Sathya Jyothi Films saying they wanted the Asuran combination to happen once again. I then asked who's the director and they said Karthick Naren. I found his narration interesting and the story is a new-age thriller. I really liked the script and it will be one fresh team-up with importance to music and background score". Ever since Dhanush 43 was announced, expectations shot up considering it would mark the first-time association for Dhanush with an up-and-coming filmmaker as Karthick Naren while curiosity hit new levels with GV Prakash coming on board and fans now pinning their hopes on yet another chart-buster album as Asuran.
