Great Khali in Bollywood
Even when he worked as a porter in a railway station, Dalip Singh always stood out – both literally and figuratively speaking. Imagine a 7-feet-3-inch tall and muscular porter carrying baggage! Now, the gentle giant stands tall in Bollywood. Yes, we are talking about The Great Khali. He is acting in a Hindi movie, Khusthi, a Rajpal Yadav starrer. The film also has Asrani, Nargis, and Manoj Joshi. It is directed by T.K. Rajeev Kumar.
Shooting for this film recently took place in Madurai, Karaikudi and villages of Sivagangai district of Tamil Nadu. It was heart-warming to see how the gathering crowds adulated him. They did not come to see a tall freak, but to see a wrestling star. The star has really won the hearts of everyone in India and all around the world.
Speaking about his experience in Bollywood, Khali said that he always liked Bollywood films and watched them whenever he was free. Now he is having real good time acting in Bollywood. He really enjoyed working with Rajpal Yadav, the star of Khusthi, and says that he is a very funny guy, always trying to make people laugh.

Khali acknowledged cheers from the crowd that gathered around to watch him at the shooting spot. He was very surprised at the hospitality of Tamil people. When asked about acting in Tamil movies, he said that he would love to work in Kollywood as well if given a chance. Speaking about Kollywood, he said he had heard of superstar Rajinikanth but never got a chance to see his films, or any Tamil film for that matter.
Khali has made a lot of appearances in Hollywood films in powerful cameos. He is best remembered as the ruthless full-back of the film, The longest Yard. This is his first venture in Indian movies. After this movie, Khali is also slated to act in Rama – the saviour, another Bollywood movie.
Khali, aged 35, used to be a porter before he joined Punjab Police Force. From there, he went on to become a bodybuilder, then entered wrestling, after which there was no looking back. Today, he is the son of the soil who put India on the platform of worldwide wrestling.
