Vaibav's film Sixer, which is directed by Chachi and jointly produced by Trident Arts and Wallmate Entertainment, opened at the theatres today and has received a lukewarm response so far. And while makers are more concerned with the film’s business currently, a small sneak-peak shared before the release has gotten them into trouble! Veteran comedian Goundamani has sent a legal notice to the makers of Vaibhav's Sixer asking them to remove the scenes in the film featuring his photos and dialogues from the 1991 film, Chinna Thambi.
The sneak-peak that was shared shows Vaibhav's character as the grandson of Goundamani's Cook Kandhasamy character in Chinna Thambi. In the video, the actor looks at Goundamani’s photo and says, ‘Thaatha who knows what sins you committed at nights, I have night-blindness’. This has enraged the comedian and thus he has issued a notice to the makers of the film for not seeking consent before using his photograph or dialogue from Chinnathambi.

The notice reads, "Using our client's name, photograph and repeating his dialogue without his consent is nothing but infringement of personal right and liberty in addition to copyright.” The notice further states that the scene be deleted otherwise legal proceedings will be initiated for defamation. The comedian has also demanded a public apology for both the makers and Vaibhav.
