Gopika’s encouraging husband
When an actor gets married, there’s no doubt he will continue acting. But when an actress ties the knot, it’s almost understood that her acting career is over. On some levels, that is quite understandable, though undoubtedly chauvinistic. Without getting into feminist discourse, let’s get to the point. Wheni¿½Gopika wed Akhilesh wed, we thought she had bid adieu to acting; hence the news that she is acting in Swa Le (Swantham Lekhakan) by cameraman turned director P. Sukumari¿½came asi¿½a pleasant surprise.
Gopika insists it was Akhilesh darling who asked her to the film! “It was my husband Akhilesh who, after hearing the story of Swa Le, asked me to do the film. I have given 15 days for the film which should be completed by the end of July. I have to go back to Ireland to celebrate my first wedding anniversary for which my husband has made elaborate preparations,” she blushed. Incidentally, as a part of the script, she gets pregnant. What about real life? “We will bothi¿½be truly happy to have a baby,” she smiles. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for that!
