National Award-winning Tamil actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram's long-awaited Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One - Yuddha Kaandam directed by leading filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon is finally set for its release on November 24. The excitement for the espionage action thriller has been massive despite its long delay and Gautham Menon has now opened up in a special interview organized by the film's team and hosted by popular anchor Dhivyadharshini (DD) on how Vikram boarded the project. Explaining how Vikram was cast in Dhruva Natchathiram, Gautham Menon said, "I was very lucky because I was wondering whether this film would become a reality. A casual conversation with Vikram sir happened on whether this script can be made into a film and over the phone, that too. When we were discussing doing a film, he asked me why Dhruva Natchathiram dropped and why Suriya didn't like it. I told him that I didn't know the reason, but I shared my idea with him. He liked what I told him and asked me to come over to his home. I went over and he spoke about 'Hosanna', 'Omanna Penne', Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, and a lot of my work."
Gautham Menon continued, "He (Vikram) spoke about Dhruva Natchathiram and I gave him a one-hour narration. He liked what he heard and said we'll work on this. Actually, he didn't have any dates at the time since he was in the middle of two other films. I think Saamy 2 was also happening at the time. We didn't start the shooting. He said he wanted to do Dhruva Natchathiram and we discussed a lot about his looks for his portions in the film. Then, suddenly, he said let's just go and pick up some clothes and we decided to go to New York since the shooting will be set in foreign locations. I told him that we'll shoot for 3-4 days and do a promo and announce the film." He added, "I shared my happiness about him joining the film since it was a project that was shelved. I told him that since he's doing the film now, it'd be nice if we started off on a big note for the announcement. We actually shot for clothes there and asked cinematographer Jomon T. John to come and he captured Vikram walking around. Everything you watched in the first promo was shot there. And, what he did for the character, I told him that it's got to be very cool and very easy. There won't be many different looks for his role since he works a lot on those looks and different getups, and I said we'll maintain a specific look for his character. The film is about a search and trying to get back somebody. He understood that beautifully and made it happen in a simple manner."
