Jr. NTR's 2003 blockbuster, Simhadri, was recently re-released in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the occasion of the Telugu superstar's birthday on Saturday. The remastered version of the action film was released in 4K and took a strong opening in theatres. Having said that, it came as a big shock when fans burst crackers inside a theatre in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh to celebrate the re-release of Simhadri. As a result, a fire had broken out inside the theatre leading to a few seats getting damaged, with a video of the incident going viral on social media. The theatre playing the film had canceled the show, with police personnel getting deployed at the scene to control the crowd and see that they all exit safely.
Several social media users have since reacted to the fire breaking out inside the theatre screening Jr. NTR's Simhadri remastered version. One person said, "Such behavior can’t be tolerated. Who’s going to pay for the property damage? (sic)." Another user wrote in Telugu, "This is very sad. The theatre owner has to face the brunt of some unruly fans (sic)." Simhadri directed by S. S. Rajamouli was the blockbuster Telugu filmmaker's second collaboration with Jr. NTR after their Student No. 1, which was released in 2001. The re-release of the film was planned on the occasion of the actor's 40th birthday celebrations and had taken a stellar opening in the two Telugu states with gross collections reported to be over ₹5 crores.

Jr. NTR and S. S. Rajamouli had once again teamed up along with Ram Charan for the 2022 epic action drama film, RRR, which went on to become a global hit, while also winning the Academy Award for 'Best Original Song' at the 95th Academy Awards earlier this year. With RRR turning out to be a phenomenal success, Jr. NTR is currently busy filming his next big Telugu film, Devara, under Koratala Siva's direction. The film will mark the Telugu debut of youth sensation Janhvi Kapoor, while Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan has been cast as the antagonist, with blockbuster Tamil music director Anirudh Ravichader composing the songs and the background score. Jr. NTR will also begin shooting for the tentatively titled NTR 31 under KGF fame Prashanth Neel's direction. The actor is also reportedly being looked up for a key role in Hrithik Roshan's War 2 and an official announcement is now eagerly being awaited by his fans everywhere.
