Popular comedian Yogi Babu is the go-to man these days when it comes to comedy as he has been featured in almost popular films namely Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Kolamaavu Kokila, Pariyerum Perumal and the recent Sarkar with his roster also including upcoming ventures like Gurkha, Ajith’s Viswasam, STR’s Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, Jiiva’s Gorilla, Vishnu Vishal’s Silukkuvarupatti Singam, Vijay’s Thalapathy 63 among few others.
That said, expectations shot up instantly after it was announced a while back that Yogi Babu would be starring as the lead in the upcoming comedy film, Dharmaprabhu. The plot of the film is said to revolve around him and Karunakaran fighting it out in Yamalokam to become the successor to the God of Death (Yeman). Meanwhile, sources close to us have now revealed exclusively that filming on the upcoming comedy venture will begin filming on December 14 with grand sets being erected at Chennai.
Muthukumaran, who awaits the release of his directorial debut, Kanni Raasi, with Vemal and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in lead roles is helming Dharmaprabhu under the Sri Vaari Films banner with Mahesh Muthuswamy taking care of the cinematography and Justin Prabhakaran scoring the music.
