Ellam Avan Seyal: Kailas' first in Tamil
Ellam Avan Seyal is due for release on November 28. It is Malayalam filmmaker Shaji Kailas' Tamil debut as director,�a remake of the super hit Malayalam crime thriller Chintamani Kola Case (2006), starring Suresh Gopi and Bhavana in the lead. Produced by Karumari Kandaswamy and J. Dhurai who made Karagattakkaran, one of the evergreen classics of Kollywood, Ellam Avan Seyal.
It stars R.K., who�enacted a negative role in Thoondil; Malayalam actress Bhama (playing the role of an�innocent girl who gets brutally ragged by her college mates), and nine Mumbai models are also in the cast. Vadivelu, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Nasser, Manivannam, Visu, Manoj K. Jayan and Thalaivasal Vijay form the supporting cast.
Music is by Vidyasagar and lyrics are by Vairamuthu. Rajarathinam is the cinematographer. Pokkiri’s dialogue writer Prabhakar has written the dialogues.
Chintamani Kola Case, which was remade in Telugu as Sri Mahalakshmi starring Srihari, is about the murder of a medical student in a ragging incident in a private medical college. The accused are a group of nine girls from affluent non-resident Indian families. Sunny Deol is�slated to star in the Hindi remake of Chintamani Kola Case.
