Artemis Fowl the fantasy adventure book series of the same name, which was created by Eoin Colfer in 2001 and currently encompasses eight novels in total, has been made into a feature film. Disney has released the poster and the trailer of the film. A big screen version of the Artemis Fowl franchise has been anticipated by the makers ever since the original book was published. Disney all though was in collaboration with Weinstein Company when they had got involved with the project in 2013.

However, Disney had parted ways with TWC after the wake of Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault scandal last year. Only then did things really started to pick up on the project. The film is based on the first novel in Colfer's series and tells the story of Mr. Artemis Fowl a 12-year old genius and the descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh, who previously worked in  'Cinderella' back in 2015, and helmed the first Thor movie for the Disney-owned Marvel Studios back in 2011.
