Dhanush and Vetrimaaran's fourth movie together - Asuran, turned out to become a blockbuster at the Box Office and this movie marked Mollywood diva Manju Warrier's maiden venture in Tamil Cinema. A very popular actress in Malayalam, Manju Warrier debuted in movies at the age of 17 with the 1995 movie Sakshyam. In the four subsequent years, she starred in some of the biggest hits in Mollywood and came to be known as one of the leading actresses of the industry. However, she moved away from movies after her marriage to actor Dileep in 1998 and made a comeback with the 2014 movie How Old Are You, after her marriage ended in divorce. Now, Manju Warrier has hit the headlines again!

Earlier this year, on October 22nd, Manju Warrier met top Kerala Police officer Loknath Behera and filed a complaint against director Shrikumar Menon for reportedly intimidating her and defaming her on socia media. A case was registered against the filmmaker under various sections including IPC 509, which is invoked when a word, gesture or act is intended to insult the modesty of a woman. Based on this case, the Police arrested Shrikumar Menon and he has subsequently been released on bail, following him giving the required surety.

Shrikumar Menon has earlier directed a number of advertisements with Manju Warrier herself starring in quite a few of them. He entered movies as a director with the 2018 movie Odiyan, which had Mohanlal and Manju Warrier in the lead. However, the movie bombed at the BO and could not live up to the expectations. On the case front, Shrikumar has reportedly assured the Kerala Police of full co-operation while Manju Warrier has penned a letter to the FEFKA (Film Employees Federation of Kerala), explaining about the case and seeking their support.
