Dileep's birthday celebrations
While South India celebrated Deepavali on Monday 27th October, actor Dileep celebrated his birthday at Vaikom, on the set of Moses D. Samuel, directed by Fazil. Producer Johny Sagarika and Fazil organized a small function, surprising Dileep, as it was not anticipated. Actor Rahman, heroine Aswathy and other artistes participated in the celebrations.
Dileep was born in Aluva and spend his childhood there. Later he moved to Ernakulam for his college studies. Dileep, originally named Gopala Krishnan, began his career as a mimicry artist with the Kalabhavan group based in Ernakulam. Later he joined director Kamal as an assistant. While working with Kamal, he appeared in some small film roles; Sallapam, which featured him in the lead role in 1996, became a super hit. Ever since, Dileep has delivered many hits and has a huge fan following in the state.
The actor is married to former actress Manju Warrier and they have a daughter.
