Two-time National Award-winning Tamil actor Dhanush's Vaathi's Kerala distribution rights have been bagged by Skanda Cinemas, with the banner also confirming the film's February 17 release plan. The news was also acknowledged by producer Naga Vamsi's Sithara Entertainments on social media and has thus put an end to the big rumors doing the rounds stating the film directed by Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri was being postponed to open in cinemas in April. Announcing the news of acquiring the Kerala theatrical rights, Skanda Cinemas also shared a poster of Dhanush from Vaathi, while declaring that the film is indeed arriving next month.

With Skanda Cinemas coming on board the Dhanush-starrer, we can expect promotions to take flight at a better pace in the days ahead as fans now wait for the second single titled 'Naadodi Mannan' to release after the film's composer G. V. Prakash Kumar had dropped an update sometime back. It is to be noted that popular producer-distributor Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio is releasing Vaathi in Tamil Nadu and there is quite a lot of excitement among Dhanush's fans considering the blockbuster banner had recently presented 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu in the state and are set to produce the Tamil superstar's next, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 67 under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction. Coming out as a bilingual, Vaathi is titled Sir in Telugu and also has Sai Soujanya's Fortune Four Cinemas co-producing the film while being presented by Srikara Studios. The film is set in the 1990s and also stars Malayalam actress Samyuktha Menon, who has garnered a huge fan following among the youth, with her chemistry alongside Dhanush already receiving a double thumbs up after witnessing her in the 'Vaa Vaathi' song that was released sometime back. Vaathi is on track to come out on next month after it was pushed from its initial release plan last year on December 2 and Dhanush fans will no doubt be counting down the days to see him in action on the big screen once again.
