Following the massive success of Thiruchitrambalam, Dhanush is gearing up for the release of his next movie, Naane Varuven which would be hitting the screens towards the end of this month, on September 29. Meanwhile, the release date of Dhanush’s other film, Sir / Vaathi has been officially announced by the makers and here are the details about it. Vaathi has been confirmed to hit the screens on December 2, 2022, and the film is currently in the post production stages.

In Vaathi, Dhanush will be seen playing the role of a school teacher and it is a film that is expected to showcase the star actor in a completely different dimension. Produced by Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments, in association with Sai Soujanya's Fortune Four Cinemas, Vaathi has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. J Yuvraj has handled the cinematography while Navin Nooli and Avinash Kolla have taken care of the editing and art direction departments respectively.

Vaathi has been made as a Tamil - Telugu bilingual and the Telugu version of the movie is called Sir. Samyuktha Menon will be seen as the female lead in this film that has Samuthirakani playing the key antagonist. Vaathi / Sir will be Dhanush's fifth release of this year after Maaran, The Gray Man, Thiruchitrambalam, and Naane Varuven. Vaathi is directed by Venky Atluri, a popular filmmaker in Telugu cinema, known for delivering romantic hit films like Tholi Prema and Rang De. The teaser of Vaathi opened to a positive reception from the audience and the trailer will be released close to the film’s release.

Dhanush is also getting ready to begin the shoot of his highly anticipated next, Captain Miller which will be directed by Arun Matheswaran of Saani Kaayidham and Rocky fame. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, this intense gangster drama will have music composed by GV Prakash. Maanagaram fame Sundeep Kishan will be seen in a pivotal character in this film which is expected to go on floors soon.
