OFFICIAL: Dhanush and Mari Selvaraj's next big film after Karnan - massive surprise in their announcement!

Dhanush has announced his next big film with Mari Selvaraj after the duo previously collaborated on the smash hit, Karnan, in 2021. The two-time National Award-winning Tamil actor has further revealed that the upcoming film will be produced by his Wunderbar Films in association with the Zee Studios South banner. Taking to social media, Dhanush posted a picture of himself and Mari Selvaraj exchanging a flower bouquet, while the actor also shared an intriguing poster announcing their new venture. Tentatively titled Production 15, the announcement of the project has incidentally arrived on the same date that their Karnan released two years back. 

Dhanush had previously announced right after the release of Karnan that he would team up with Mari Selvaraj once again and the latest update indicates that their project has gotten bigger.  Despite opening in cinemas with only 50% occupancy, the film turned out to be a commercial success, while also garnering a huge viewership on streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and all fans will be looking forward to the duo to hit the bullseye once again with their new venture. Both Dhanush and Mari Selvaraj have several big projects in between them, which are in various stages of development and it remains to be seen when their second film together will go on floors. Dhanush, who is reviving Wunderbar Films after almost 5 years when Maari 2 came out in late 2018, is currently busy filming the highly-anticipated period action venture, Captain Miller, under Arun Matheswaran's direction. The actor also has in the pipeline his first-ever Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi trilingual with National Award winner Sekhar Kammula, while he was also recently announced to be headlling Sun Pictures' next illustrious project, which is tentatively titled D50. Dhanush is also expected to team up with filmmaker Vetri Maaran once again for Vada Chennai 2, which has been carrying massive hype ever since the first film came out in 2018. Mari Selvaraj, on the other hand, is at present hard at work with the post-production duties of Maamannan starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu, Keerthy Suresh, and Fahadh Faasil, which features music by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. The Pariyerum Perumal director is also awaiting the release of Vaazhai, which has been announced to premiere directly on streaming and is presented by Disney+ Hotstar and Navvi Studios. Mari Selvaraj had also announced a film with Dhruv Vikram, who became a youth sensation after Adithya Varma (2019), with their project revealed to be a set around Kabbadi.
