A film announcement that left fans delighted earlier this year was the upcoming Dhanush starrer, D43, under Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru and Mafia director Karthick Naren's direction. Being produced by the reputed Sathya Jyothi Films, the film was initially announced to be hitting screens earlier this October. However, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, those plans have since taken a backseat, with production yet to flag off. In the midst of this, it was also revealed that composer G. V. Prakash Kumar will be scoring for Dhanush's D43 after last year's blockbuster Asuran under Vetri Maaran's direction. 

GV Prakash, who had earlier revealed that D43 will be a new-age thriller, has now given fans an official update on the status of the film's soundtrack. Taking to his Twitter page, GV Prakash said that three songs in the film have already been completed, with the recording on the fourth track currently ongoing. He further shared his excitement on the way the songs have been shaping up, while declaring that fans can expect a solid album when it is released. He tweeted, "3 songs completed for #D43 ... starting the fourth song recording  ... super excited about the way the songs are shaping up ... get ready for a solid album @dhanushkraja @SathyaJyothi_ @karthicknaren_M". It is to be noted that GV Prakash had earlier in July informed that Dhanush himself had penned the lyrics for the songs in D43 along with lyricist Vivek. Fans are pinning high hopes on the Aadukalam music director to churn out hit tunes once again after his work on Asuran proved to be monumental. 

D43 will mark Dhanush's fourth association with Sathya Jyothi Films after Thodari and Pattas, while another project under Ratsasan director Ramkumar, the tentatively D42, is at present in its pre-production stages. The upcoming film will see youth sensation Malavika Mohanan playing the female lead opposite Dhanush. D43 will be Malavika's next big film after she played a pivotal role in 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Petta and is set to be seen as the heroine in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's highly-anticipated mass action venture Master. Director Karthick Naren had earlier announced that D43 is getting its screenplay written by the acclaimed writer duo of Sharfu-Suhas.
