National Award-winning actor Dhanush’s first film of 2019 will be his Hollywood debut, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, coming out on June 21. A French English-language comedy-adventure film, it has been dubbed in Tamil under the title Pakkiri with its trailer launched a couple of days back at Mumbai where the multi-talented star went on to reveal that his next film in Bollywood will be hekmed by director Aanand L Rai.
Dhanush and Aanand L Rai had previously collaborated on the blockbuster Raanjhanaa in 2013 following which the Maari star went on to deliver a power-packed role in Shamitabh alongside Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan.
With Dhanush drawing critical acclaim for his performances in both these films, fans are mighty excited for what he and Aanand L Rai have planned for their next, which is set to be announced soon. As for his other projects, Dhanush is at present working with National Award-winning director Vetrimaaran in Asuran after their critical smash hit, Vada Chennai, last year. He also has the long-pending romantic action thriller, Enai Noki Paayum Thota, directed by Gautham Menon awaiting its release and a film with Pariyerum Perumal director Mari Selvaraj, which is yet to roll into production. There are also two other films he has signed with Sathya Jyothi Films - one project to be directed by Durai Senthilkumar, whom he previously worked with on Kodi and another venture with Ratsasan fame Ramkumar.
