The Vetrimaaran-Dhanush combo has emerged to be one of the most successful combos in Tamil cinema history, with the duo at present working on their upcoming next, Asuran, which is an adaptation of the acclaimed Tamil novel, Vekkai.
This is the fourth occasion Dhanush and Vetrimaaran have joined hands for a film after their previous ventures, Pollathavan, Aadukalam and last year’s hit action gangster drama, Vada Chennai.
Being produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu’s V Creations, Asuran will see Dhanush in dual roles alongside Malayalam actress Manju Warrier as the female lead followed by Balaji Sakthivel as a policeman and Pasupathi in a vital supporting role with G. V. Prakash Kumar composing the music.

Production on the period action thriller drama has been progressing at a consistent pace with two schedules wrapped up already and GV Prakash too keeping fans updated on the progress of the songs in Asuran.
Meanwhile, Dhanush took to his social networking page to officially announce that the Asuran final schedule has begun rolling starting today.
Based on the rate of speed the team is going now, we can expect production to get completed in quick time in the days ahead after which post-production works will proceed forward in full swing.
