Leading Tamil films producer-distributor Dr. Dhananjayan Govind recently met Kamal Haasan and discussed his upcoming film, the tentatively titled KH 234, which will see the actor joining hands with ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam once again after 35 years. He opened up on his meeting with the iconic actor saying he had gone to extend his wishes as he was happy about the film's announcement. Dhananjayan stated that Kamal Haasan had told him about how the story for KH 234 is really good and had fallen in place while revealing that the actor is extremely excited about the film.
Speaking about the shooting plans of KH 234, Dhananjayan Govind revealed, "The film will begin production next year (2023). It's going to be made on a big level and will be a grand venture." When queried whether the film will be a gangster venture, he said, "No, I didn't discuss with him about the genre, but it will be a benchmark in Indian cinema since there are huge expectations surrounding it. From my point of view, it will do business unlike any other in Tamil cinema history."
Both Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are fresh from the massive success of each of their respective films namely, Vikram and Ponniyin Selvan: 1. The Tamil cinema legends are reuniting once again in KH 234 after their cult classic Nayakan in 1987, which has gone on to become one of the most important films in Indian cinema. The upcoming film will feature music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R. Mahendran, and Siva Ananth under their banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies, and is being presented by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. KH 234 marks the first time Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam and A. R. Rahman are collaborating together and the excitement among fans is undoubtedly high for the trio to come up with something magical.
