Director Muthaiya who is known for his rustic rural action entertainers, recently witnessed the release of his film, Devarattam that starred Gautham Karthik and Manjima Mohan in the lead roles. This film opened to mixed reviews from the audience, however, it was said that the film performed comparatively better in the rural centres, catering to the mainstream commercial audience. The film was produced by Studio Green and had music scored by Nivas Prasanna.

We now hear some interesting developments in this action director's next film. Our close sources tell that Muthaiya is in talks to do a film with STR as the lead. Yes! It is indeed true that the discussions are on already and more details are expected to be known by the third week of May.

Studio Green will be bankrolling this project who shares a great rapport with both, Muthaiya and STR. Studio Green recently announced a new film with STR (co-starring Gautham Karthik), directed by Narthan. The announced film will take some time to go on floors as STR will first start to shoot for his political drama, Maanaadu, with director Venkat Prabhu.

Muthaiya has worked with actors like Karthi, Vishal, Sasikumar, Gautham Karthik in the past and it is going to be indeed fresh to see him collaborate with STR. Also, it has been a long time since we saw STR in a rural avatar and it will be a new makeover for the actor to get into the traditional roots.
