Coronavirus from barber's salon infects 6 people in Madhya Pradesh

A barber in the Bargaon village in Madhya Pradesh, who used the same blade and cloth on his customers, has led to six people testing positive for the coronavirus. Samples of 10-12 people who visited the salon were collected and sent for testing with six of them, aged between 28 and 73 years, now confirmed to have contracted the disease. It is said the cloth and the hair-cutting instruments used by the barber has led to the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the village.

It has been revealed that a Bargaon youth working at a hotel in Indore city had recently visited his village in Khargone and is said to have paid a visit to the salon on April 5 for a hair-cut and shave, after which he tested positive for COVID-19. Ever since news of people getting infected came to light, the boundaries of the village were ordered to be sealed with surveying underway for more positive cases. As of now, relatives of the six positive coronavirus cases in Bargaon have been home-quarantined with their samples as well sent for testing. Khargone district reportedly has around 60 positive COVID-19 cases to date with 19 people said to have been infected by the virus in the past two days.
