Announced as an Independence Day release, Jayam Ravi’s Comali coming out in theatres on August 15, has raised massive curiosity among fans of late. Debutant director Pradeep Ranganathan has helmed the comedy entertainer, which had a fun-filled trailer released last week and has been trending on social networking forums. In the Comali trailer, there is a specific shot that shows Jayam Ravi waking up from the coma stage to see ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s political entry speech on the television. Rajinikanth fans were quite offended by the particular shot saying it was mocking the veteran actor in bad light and took to social media to express their dissatisfaction. Now, the team has decided to remove the scene from the film stating they do not want to offend fans anymore ahead of its theatrical release in 10 days.
Expectations for Comali have been on the rise of late especially with the film’s songs composed by Hiphop Tamizha turning out to be hits among fans. Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh’s Vels Films International has produced the film and includes Kajal Aggarwal as the main female lead followed by Samyuktha Hegde, popular Kannada and Bollywood actress Kavita Radheshyam and comedian Yogi Babu in important supporting roles.
