Prime Video has released the first trailer for the highly-anticipated action spy thriller web series, Citadel, starring Game of Thrones and Eternals fame Richard Madden and Indian superstar and Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the lead roles. The series sees the duo playing agents, who do not have any recollection of their past lives, but are called back into active service by Citadel, a mysterious spy agency, to put a stop to a new world threat. Announced to premiere on Prime Video, Citadel directed by Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo is a six-episode series, and is touted to be the start of a spy universe.
The trailer of Prime Video's upcoming action series starts off introducing Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra) as agents of the global spy agency Citadel. The duo are shown to have their memories erased after escaping a fatal attack eight years ago and now have new identities, while leading a normal life. When a powerful syndicate, Manticore, rises to the to to establish a new world order, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), a former colleague of Mason and Nadia, seeks their help and enlists them on a globe-trotting mission. The Citadel trailer also gives viewers a glimpse into their relationships, secrets and a love story.
Billed to be an "action-packed spy series with a compelling emotional centre", Citadel has been executive produced by the Russo Brothers' AGBO and showrunner David Weil. Announced to premiere on April 28, the series also stars Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Roland Møller as Anders Silje and Davik Silje, Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy, and will stream in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
