The name Christopher Nolan sends instant excitement among fans worldwide as the celebrated filmmaker has made some of the most memorable films among which are Memento, The Prestige, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, Interstellar and Dunkirk. The Academy Award-nominated director has now begun filming with actor John David Washington on what appears to be an action scene on a wide scale for his next, TENET, once again under the Warner Bros. banner at Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Being billed as an "international espionage" action blockbuster, the film is said to be the first large-scale project being shot in the Baltics with pictures from the shooting spot now doing the rounds online.
Announced for a worldwide release on July 17, 2020 and being shot in IMAX, filming on TENET is expected to take place in different regions of Tallinn with thousands of natives set to participate as extras and background actors. Christopher Nolan is said to have handpicked Tallinn as a shooting location owing to the city’s local architecture. The upcoming action spy thriller will incidentally mark the filmmaker’s first-time association with Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson and not with frequent collaborator Hans Zimmer with whom he had worked with since The Prestige till his last film, Dunkirk.
TENET includes a diverse cast featuring names like John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh with cinematography by Hoyte van Hoytema and editing by Jennifer Lame.
