The latest good news from Kollywood is that Chiyaan Vikram has become a grandfather. Yes! The super handsome and stylish star will now be entering a new phase of his life as a grandfather. Chiyaan Vikram's daughter, Akshita gave birth to a baby girl yesterday (November 9) and the family is said to be elated on the arrival of their newest family member. Ajay Gnanamuthu who is directing Chiyaan Vikram's next film, Cobra, congratulated and shared his best wishes to Vikram on becoming a granddad. Ajay tweeted, "Many many congrats on the new role #ChiyaanVikram sir.. I’m damn sure you’ll be one of those coolest grand dads Wishes to the entire family.. And welcome Kiddo,".

Wishes have been pouring in for Vikram, Akshita, and their entire family and this is indeed a very special moment for them. Vikram's daughter Akshita got married to Manu Ranjith, the great-grandson of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Manu is also the son of CK Ranganathan, the Chairman of the Cavin Kare group. The couple got married in October 2017 and their wedding pictures went viral on social media during that time.

On the work front, Chiyaan Vikram has a few more days of shoot for Cobra which has got huge expectations among the film buffs. Cobra will feature the star actor in different makeovers and one can be sure that his performance is going to be a visual treat for the fans. Produced by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios, this action entertainer has music scored by the legendary AR Rahman who has already delivered a chartbuster single in the form of 'Thumbi Thullal'.

After completing Cobra, Chiyaan Vikram will be teaming up with director Karthik Subbaraj for Chiyaan 60 which will also feature Dhruv Vikram as the other lead. The film marks the father-son combination for the first time and the fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing it on the big screen. Vikram also plays one of the leads in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan that is planned to be made as a two-part film. Vikram will reportedly essay the role of Aditya Karikalan in this historical epic that also features Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha and others in the star cast. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, the film has music scored by AR Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman.
