Telugu actor Niharika Konidela, the niece of 'Megastar' Chiranjeevi, announced her divorce from Hyderabad-based techie Chaitanya Jonnalagadda after three years of marriage on Wednesday, July 5. In a statement released on Instagram, she wrote, "Chaitanya and I have decided to mutually part ways and ask for kindness and sensitivity as we move on. Thank you to my family and friends who have been pillars of support. I request some privacy for us to navigate this new normal in private. Thank you for understanding." Earlier, Niharika and Chaitanya unfollowed each other on their social media handles, while deleting all the posts featuring them both, including their wedding photos, which initially sparked rumors about their separation. Rumors about their split first surfaced a few months back when Niharika attended her brother Varun Tej's engagement ceremony without Chaitanya. Niharika Konidela tied the knot with Chaitanya in Udaipur in 2020.
Niharika Konidela began her career in the Telugu entertainment industry as a television presenter after which she was seen on web shows namely Muddapappu Avakai, Nanna Koochi, and Madhouse produced under her Pink Elephant Pictures production banner. Niharika shifted to the big screen and made her acting debut in the Telugu film Oka Manasu (2016). She then made her Tamil cinema debut in the black comedy film, Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren (2018), alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Karthik, and Gayathrie, under Arumuga Kumar's direction. Seen earlier this year on the Disney+Hotstar series Dead Pixels, she also made appearances in the Telugu films Happy Wedding (2018), Suryakantham, and the epic historical action drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2019). Niharika Konidela is the daughter of actor-producer Nagendra Babu and the sister of Telugu star Varun Tej and the niece of veteran Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi. Leading Telugu actors Ram Charan, Sai Dharam Tej, Allu Arjun, and Allu Sirish are Niharika Konidela's cousins.
