Cheran as CBI officer in Yuddham Sei
Filmmaker Cheran is back in actor. The actor-director is all set to play the lead role in director Mysskin’s Yuddham Sei (YS) produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram. Deepa Shah from Mumbai is the female lead. In this action entertainer, Cheran will play the role of a CBI officer for the first time in his career.
“When Mysskin narrated the story, he told me that my character would not have a bushy moustache and a six-pack. He said my character would not display heroism, but rather intelligence. Yuddham Sei will peek into the life of a normal Q branch officer; how he reacts to crime forms the crux of the story,” Cheran said to a leading English daily.
Cheran is full of praise for his director. “He knows the language of cinema well. He doesn’t do films for the sake of numbers. He spent 65 lakhs on a song (featuring Ameer and Neetu Chandra) which will find a place in the top ten kuthu song list. He takes utmost care to ensure that every sequence is perfect. I’m sure that in the next couple of years, he will become one of the best contemporary filmmakers,” he added.
Cheran is also busy writing scripts for two movies: Adutha Thalamurai and Autograph 2. More details are awaited.
