Filmmaker K Subash--the man behind the blockbuster Chatriyan--has passed away at his residence today. He started his career as an assistant to Mani Ratnam in Nayagan. Some of his notable work includes Pavithra, Ninaivirukkum Varai, Eazhaiyin Sirippil, 123, Sabash, and Nesam. He also has penned the story of Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express and Diwale.
