The Buddhist Nationalist Group staged a demonstration in Colombo recently demanding the boycott of Tamil films in Sri Lanka. The protest was held in the wake of an one-day hunger strike observed by the Tamil industry on March 19.
Meanwhile many veteran Sri Lankan film personalities have decided not to support the demands of the Buddhist Nationalist Group. They have also extended an invitation to the South Indian film artist to come and visit the Island nation.
