SJ Suryah's first big film of 2023 in the lead role, Bommai, is gearing up for a grand release on June 16, and an exciting new trailer for the film is now out showing yet another powerful performance from the filmmaker-turned-actor. Touted to be a romantic thriller, the upcoming film directed by Radhamohan, best known for Mozhi (2007) and Abhiyum Naanum (2008), is a step away from the emotional and breezy feel-good dramas the acclaimed filmmaker has made throughout the course of his career and promises to be an intense outing. Bommai, which has SJ Suryah paired with Priya Bhavani Shankar, is a reunion for the duo after they appeared together in the smash 2019 hit, Monster, and expectations are high for them to recreate the magic once again.

The Bommai trailer starts off showing SJ Suryah working in a clothing store and infatuated by a mannequin, which he imagines to be Priya Bhavani Shankar. We see how he falls in love with the mannequin, with whom he begins to have interactions, while Chandini Tamilarasan is appearing in a key role. As evident by the film's title, Bommai will revolve around SJ Suryah's fascination and obsession with the mannequin played by Priya Bhavani Shankar, and it will be interesting to see how director Radhamohan has packaged the story to keep the audience engaged in theatres for more than two hours.
Bommai has been produced by Angel Studios MH LLP banner and is finally getting released after a long wait considering filming had wrapped in early 2020. The film's music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with the 'Mudhal Muththam' song released a few months back receiving good feedback. SJ Suryah, who has of late been seen in pivotal roles in big star films, will be looking to hit the bullseye as the hero with Bommai, and hope for positive results ahead of his Jigarthanda DoubleX alongside Raghava Lawrence this Diwali, while he is also making crucial appearances in Vishal's Mark Antony and director Shankar's Game Changer starring Ram Charan in Telugu.
