Special OPS actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passes away due to COVID-19 - celebrities and fans shocked
Acclaimed actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal, known for his performances in several popular Hindi films, TV shows and web series, passed away on Friday due to COVID-19 complications. He was 52. Prior to his entry in the entertainment industry, Bikramjeet Kanwarpal served in Indian Army as a Major, with the news of his demise being announced on social media by reputed filmmaker Vikram Bhatt. Having worked with the late actor in many films, including Horror Story and Creature 3D, Vikram Bhatt posted a photo of Bikramjeet Kanwarpal on Instagram and wrote, "Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passes away. Taken from us by the cruel pandemic. I have done a lot of films with him and this doesn't get closer home. The days are turning into one long obituary and yet each life that we lose cannot be just a number. We cannot allow it to become a number. Each a special friend. May his soul rest in peace."
Director Ashoke Pandit tweeted, "Sad to hear about the demise of actor Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal this morning due to #Covid. A retired army officer, Kanwarpal had played supporting roles in many films and television serials. Heartfelt condolences to his family and near ones."

Neil Nitin Mukesh, known among Tamil cinema fans for playing the villain in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Kaththi, had co-starred with Bikramjeet in Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bypass Road and Shortcut Romeo. In his tribute, Neil Nitin wrote, "Extremely sad news. I've known Major Bikramjeet for so many years. He and I have worked on so many films together. The last being Bypass Road. Such a fantastic, encouraging and energetic human being he was and will always be remembered as. #RIP My dear friend will miss you."

Bikramjeet Kanwarpal debuted in the film industry in 2003 after his retirement from the Indian Army and starred in ventures like Page 3, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Aarakshan, Murder 2, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Chance Pe Dance, 2 States and The Ghazi Attack among others, including playing the role of Samantha's father in Suriya's Anjaan in Tamil. He also made notable appearances in television shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Dil Hi Toh Hai, including Anil Kapoor’s 24. Bikramjeet Kanwarpal's last major starring role was in Disney Plus Hotstar’s popular web series Special Ops.
