Mega star Mammootty is geared up for his upcoming period movie Maamaankam. This film narrates the heroic deeds of legendary warriors of vadakkan pattu.
The unit has eretced a huge set for the film which is said to be the biggest ever created for a Malayalam film. Its shooting is going on at a brisk pace, say latest reports. In a major relief to makers, the Ernakulam District Court has recently dismissed a petition by director Sajeev Pillai to put a stay on its shooting. He had alleged that the makers had removed him from the film. But the court found that Sajeev had transeferred all rights to the producer Venu Kunnapally. Sajeev already accepted Rs 21.75 lakh before the second shedule if the film, said Venu, adding that the rushes shot by Sajeev were useless and it cost him Rs 13 crore.
The producer had to shoot the movie again, alleged Venu. Noted director M Padmakumar is helming the project after Sajeev's abrupt exit. Unni Mukundan, Kaniha, Anu Sithara, Neeraj Madhav, etc play major roles in this war movie which is currently in its last leg of shooting.
