Babli Bouncer is an upcoming Hindi drama film directed by National Award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar and written by Amit Joshi, Aradhana Debnath, and Madhur Bhandarkar. Produced by Vineet Jain and Amrita Pandey under the banners of Star Studios and Junglee Pictures, the film stars Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead with Abhishek Bajaj confirmed to be a part of the cast as well. It has been filmed simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages and is scheduled for a digital release on 23 September 2022 on Disney+ Hotstar.
The makers of the film have dropped the official trailer of Babli Bouncer which shows the actress in a never-seen-before avatar. The trailer seems to be a delightful fun family entertainer in which Tamannaah’s character of the lady bouncer Babli is introduced as one of the most promising people who can take up the job as a bodybuilder who hails from Fatehpur Beri, a place where most bouncers come from which is why it is also known as the 'Village of Bouncers'.
However, what sets her apart is her gender. Being a bodybuilder and aspiring to be a bouncer is seen as a manly job. Even Babli’s mother points out the fact that she is not feminine, and that she would never be able to get married. We see Tamannaah Bhatia play the bold, brave, and bindaas Babli, a bouncer at a nightclub, and how she carves a niche in a male-dominated profession.
Tamannaah Bhatia opened up about her role in Babli Bouncer and said, “As soon as I read the script, I fell in love with the role. It’s one of the most exciting characters that I have come across; it has substance. Madhur sir has a flair for crafting defaining female protagonists, and Babli too is a powerful part. For the first time, a film will explore the story of a female bouncer. I can’t wait to dive into this new world.”
