Award for Anil Panachooran
Kavi Mandalam, a society of local poets in Kannur, will present the 'P. Bhaskaran Puraskaram' for the best Malayalam film song lyricist to Anil Panachooran at a function at Pazhayangadi on August 30, Kavi Mandalam general convener Ramakrishnan Kannom said. The award is instituted for the memory of P. Bhaskaran, one of Kerala's finest lyricists and a poet of immense calibre.
Anil Panachooran, a lawyer by profession, is one of the most prominent names among the group of newcomers in the Malayalam film music scene. He stormed an entry into Mollywood with his great lyrics in Lal Jose’s Arabikkatha. Immediately after this hit movie, which fetched him many awards, Anil Panachooran has written lyrics for half a dozen movies in the last six months.
This poet-turned-lyricist is now more than busy with plenty of projects. He is presently writing songs for the new Dileep starrer Run Gopala Run by young director Deepu Karunakaran. Also in his forthcoming list of movies are Siddhique’s Body Guard, Winter, Sathish Pothuval's Samayam and Mammootty starrer Daddy Cool. Anil Panachooran has also got offers from ace director Jayaraj to pen the script for his new movie.
