A. V. M. Rajeswari no more!
The wife of A. V. Meiyappan (founder of AVM Studios), A. V. M. Rajeswari died yesterday, November 9th at 8pm, aged 87. She died of age related illnesses.
She is survived by her sons A. V. M. Murugan, A. V. M. Kumaran, A. V. M. Saravanan, A. V. M. Balasubramanian and a daughter Meena Veerappan, who are all involved in the film industry.
A. V. M. Rajeswari was a philanthropist being involved in many charities and non-governmental organisations (NGO). She was the President of A. V. M. Charities and Avichi Higher Secondary School. Institutions like the old age home Vishranthi, WIA and Family Planning Association of India have benefitted because of her guiding hand and munificence.
Vishranthi, according to her daughter-in-law Ranjini Murugan (President, Family Planning Association of India), was the late A. V. M. Rajeswari’s favourite NGO.
