National Award winners Vetrimaaran and Dhanush have struck gold yet again in their fourth outing now, Asuran, after their Polladhavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai, as the period action drama has been receiving stunning reviews from all corners. Released earlier this month, Asuran produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu’s V Creations banner has also seen a substantial rise in the number of people turning up at theatres to watch the film, which is an adaptation of acclaimed Tamil writer, Poomani’s Vekkai novel. With the film out in theatres, promotions are still being carried out at an active pace with the much-awaited ‘Kannazhagu Rathiname’ song lyric video now being released. Sung by Dhanush to the lyrics of Yugabharathi, the track has become quite popular as the other ones and is now out on YouTube.

Apart from Vetrimaaran’s direction and intense screenplay and Dhanush’s portrayal of his character, Asuran includes several other notable performances from the rest of the cast with Malayalam actress Manju Warrier, Ken Karunas and Teejay Arunasalam being standouts and Balaji Sakthivel, Pasupathi, Ammu Abhirami, Prakash Raj, Pawan, A. Venkatesh, Nithin playing their roles amicably.
