Asin declines PETA offer
The organizers of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the world's largest animal rights organization based in Norfolk, Virginia, with two million members and supporters worldwide, recently approached reigning actress Asin to promote vegetarianism as their brand ambassador, but to their disappointment, Asin rejected the offer.
The actress�is a hardcore non-vegetarian and therefore felt�it would be unfair on her part to accept the offer. "After I entered the film industry, I restricted my non-veg diet to fish and chicken. I can’t, however, remain without non-veg food even for a single day. Therefore, it won’t be proper for me to involve myself in the campaign against non-veg food,” Asin was quoted as saying.
PETA ropes in celebrities and puts them in the forefront of its campaign from time to time to promote vegetarian food habits.�Bollywood actresses who have already extended their support�include Aishwarya Rai and Manisha Koirala.
