Vijay Antony's next big film, Pichaikkaran 2, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release in April and the first four minutes from the film have now been officially released as a sneak peek trailer. These first visuals from the upcoming film introduces to us Dev Gill in Chennai, who is said to be playing the antagonist and is keenly observing a neurosurgeon on television speaking about the boons of brain transplantation, before the scene shifts to Dubai. Although Vijay Antony doesn't appear anywhere in the sneak peek video, we can expect his character and the brain transplantation scenario to be the plot points in Pichaikkaran 2.
Pichaikkaran 2 is releasing in Telugu under the title Bichagadu 2, followed by Bhikshuka 2 in Kannada, while the Malayalam version is called Bhikshakkaran 2. The sequel to the 2016 blockbuster, Pichaikkaran, the film is being presented by Fatima Vijay Antony and produced under the Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner, while the satellite and digital rights have been acquired by Star Network. The buzz for Pichaikkaran 2 has been massive ever since it was announced in 2021 and Vijay Antony will be hoping that the film goes on to become a bigger success than its 2016 original.
Vijay Antony is making his directorial debut with Pichaikkaran 2 and has also written the story and screenplay of the film, while also serving as the editor. The composer turned actor is currently on the road to recovery after he sustained injuries on his nose, mouth and teeth during a song shoot in Malaysia when his boat had gone out of control.
