Nayanthara's landmark 75th film, Annapoorani - The Goddess of Food, is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on December 1 and preparations are underway to make it a grand outing for the leading Tamil actress, who will be looking to wrap 2023 on a big note. The upcoming film, which was launched in April this year under the working title Lady Superstar 75, has been directed by Nilesh Krishnaa, who is incidentally making his big-screen filmmaking debut. With the countdown already on and less than a week left for the film to be launched into cinemas, the much-awaited Annapoorani trailer has now been released and gives audiences the first big glimpse into what awaits them in theatres.
The Annapoorani trailer starts off showing a competition for India's Best Chef, with Nayanthara revealed to be an aspiring chef and Renuka as her mother advising her not to dream beyond what can be attained in reality. Hailing from an orthodox Brahmin family, we then see the 'Lady Superstar' go the extra mile and take up culinary arts in the hopes of becoming a chef unbeknownst to her family's knowledge, who are under the impression that she is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) post-gradutation degree. The Annapoorani trailer predominantly revolves around Nayanthara's grit and determination to become a chef, while defying the norms, with Jai also appearing in a crucial role, thus making it a reunion for the duo after their blockbuster, Raja Rani (2013) while Sathyaraj, Achyuth Kumar, KS Ravikumar, Redin Kingsly, Achyuth Kumar, Kumari Sachu, Karthik Kumar and Suresh Chakkaravarthy also make appearances in key roles.
The Annapoorani trailer out now is the latest in the promotions of the film, which had its second single 'Life is ON' released last week to a positive response and showed both Nayanthara and Jai recreate the chemistry they shared a decade back in Raja Rani, which went on to become a smashing success. Composer Thaman. S too will aim for the bullseye with Annapoorani, which is incidentally his next big outing in Tamil cinema after he delivered chart-topping hit songs and a thunderous background score in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's box office blockbuster Varisu released earlier this year.
